Neonicotinoids

Neonicotinoids

e.g. clothianidin , imidacloprid , thiamethoxam

Neonicotinoids target a specific part of the insect's nerve cells that normally responds to a chemical called acetylcholine, which is like a messenger in the insect's brain. When neonicotinoids bind to this part of the nerve cell, they can cause the insect to become overstimulated, lethargic or paralyzed.
